The Stonefield Story

Situated on one of the loveliest locales on the island of St Lucia, the Stonefield Villa Resort property bears the distinction of having captured the imagination of the island’s earliest known inhabitants, the Arawaks. As early as 350 A.D. these Amerindian people were so impressed by the verdant tropical landscape — and its auspicious positioning near the imposing Petit Piton — that they recorded their impressions on a stone tablet which can still be seen at Stonefield Villa today.

Stonefield’s more recent history includes its incarnation as a prosperous agricultural estate producing the much-desired cocoa and lime oil that were driving forces of colonial plantation economies. In 1972 the Brown family acquired the land and Canadian engineer Wayne Brown and his St Lucian wife Anista began to envision a retreat that would eventually become a pied-à-terre for visitors from the world over.

Today, Stonefield Resort is the embodiment of its founders’ vision, offering elegantly rustic accommodations on a lush tropical hillside that affords visitors a chance to relax, luxuriate and rejuvenate. We are proud to continue this property’s 1600-year old reputation as one of the most desirable destinations for the discerning Caribbean traveler.
